Ren’s Rescue was founded in 2014 and became a registered charity in 2019. During that time we successfully rehomed hundreds of animals to loving homes.
In 2018/19 we moved to Keyingham and were offered the use of some land in Winestead. We took the opportunity to expand our work with farm animals and are currently home to a turkey, three pigs, and 13 sheep.
Once we had settled into our new premises we received an ever-increasing number of requests to help with wildlife. We already had considerable experience (and training for) working with bats and hedgehogs but underwent different specialist courses and work experience placements so that we can help other local wildlife, particularly foxes, badgers, gulls, pigeons, deer, wild rabbits & hares, and other birds
We have a shop in central Hull that helps cover our expenses and we raise additional funding from grant-giving trusts and at various events throughout the year. We also receive donations from our wonderful supporters.
Ren’s has 0 paid staff and is run 100% by volunteers, who work simply for the love of animals.
As we are currently focusing on wildlife, we are not able to take in domestic animals at this time.
