Ren’s Rescue was founded in 2014 to care for domestic animals. During our first five years, we helped heal and rehome several hundred animals from a small house in the centre of Hull In 2018 we moved to Keyingham, in East Yorkshire, and continued to work with domestic animals but with an ever-increasing number of requests to help with wildlife. The following year we registered as a charity. As time went by it became clear that the biggest need in our area was for wildlife and we slowly changed our focus to their care. We had already undertaken training in caring for bats and for hedgehogs and had a few years of practical experience caring for them and we added to our training and practical skills, whenever we could. As our knowledge grew we were able to help a wider range of animals and birds and now we are ready and able to take in badgers, foxes, gulls, pigeons, deer, wild rabbits & hares, corvids, birds of prey, and an assortment of smaller, garden birds.
We realised that space would be getting tight, particularly for the large mammals, and in 2020 we acquired the use of 11.5 acres of land in Winestead, where we keep our rescued sheep and pigs and where we hope to move the rescue, subject to planning consent.>Of course, none of this could be achieved without your help, and as we grow our need for your support grows too. If you think you could help us either practically or financially then please visit our Support Us page and check out the variety of ways you can help us help the wild ones.
